Singapore “The Straits Times”: Singapore-Chongqing tie-ups: Start-up sets AI on smart tourism sector

A Singapore-based tech start-up is making a bid to take on Chinese giants Alibaba and Tencent in the smart tourism industry.

Called Fooyo – a play on a Chinese phrase meaning “floating object” – its apps cover various functions that roving tourists need, from an itinerary planner that can adapt to unforeseen disruptions, to crowd monitoring systems to attraction guides.
