About Fooyo

AI that earns its place in your business

We're the team that builds, ships and runs the AI products enterprises actually use — from Singapore to customers in eight countries. No lab experiments — software that does real work, every day.

Why Fooyo

Most enterprise AI dies in a pilot. We exist to make it ship — and keep shipping, inside the messy reality of how businesses really run.

Models are impressive in a slide and useless in a workflow. We started Fooyo to close that gap — to build AI that lives inside real operations and earns its keep.

So we build inside the workflow, not beside it — wiring AI into the systems teams already use, with a human in the loop where it counts. If it doesn't save real hours for the people doing the work, it doesn't ship.

A Humble Start

It began in a school incubator, with a lean team and an ambition bigger than it.

Fooyo® started in 2014 in a start-up incubator at the National University of Singapore — a very lean team, set on creating digital products that elevate people’s lives and benefit the enterprises they work for.

It was founded by a small group. Shao, one of the co-founders, left a full-time job as a software developer at ViSenze — the Singapore visual-search company now part of Rezolve AI (Nasdaq: RZLV) — to build it. The company restructured in 2021, and he has led it since.

The name is 浮游 — “floating” in Chinese. It describes a state of simplicity and freedom, which is still the standard we hold our products to: simple and easy to use, for consumers and businesses alike.

Fun Fact

“Fuiyoh!”

Say 浮游 out loud around Singapore or Malaysia and you land somewhere else entirely. Fuiyoh! is what you say when something genuinely impresses you — the exact opposite of Haiyaa!, which is what you say when it really doesn’t.

Comedian Nigel Ng, better known as Uncle Roger, took both around the world. We’d like our software to earn the first reaction rather than the second.

Our Journey

From a stubborn question to products in production.

More than a decade of doing the unglamorous work — sitting with operations, finance and marketing teams to learn where the time actually goes. From the little red dot to customers in eight countries.

  1. 2014

    Fooyo is founded in Singapore

A small team with one belief: applied AI should make it into production, not a slide deck.

  2. 2017

    Smart Tourism launches in Sentosa

Our first Smart Tourism deployment goes live in Sentosa, Singapore — a whole destination, not a pilot.

  3. 2018

    Into China, through Chongqing

We start exploring the China market through the China–Singapore (Chongqing) Connectivity Initiative, and build our AI crowd-analysis solution in Chongqing.

  4. 2020

    Fooyo Commerce® goes live

COVID-19 hits tourism hard, and Fooyo Commerce becomes the product that carries us through. Retail and F&B SMEs become our customers, and our friends.

  5. 2024

    AI Knowledge Base launches

The wave set off by ChatGPT and Anthropic makes enterprise knowledge tractable at last — so we ship it, with cited sources and review gates.

  6. 2025–now

    All in on agentic AI

We see what agentic AI can really do and go all in — starting with Kakis, our story agent, which shapes a narrative, plans it scene by scene and produces the video. Today one of Singapore’s most pioneering agentic AI companies, working across manufacturing, tourism, retail, logistics and maritime.

Recognised Along The Way

We don’t chase awards. They’re a useful second opinion.

What We Hold To

Four principles behind everything we ship.

01

Ship products, not prototypes

If it can't survive daily use, it doesn't ship. We build for production from day one — real data, real users, real accountability.

02

Keep a human in the loop

Every automated decision has a review gate and a cited source. Speed never comes at the cost of trust.

03

Build for the region

Multilingual, multi-channel, and ready for China. We design for how Southeast Asian businesses really operate.

04

Earn the data we hold

Your own cloud or your own servers, role-based access, audit logs. Frontier models under enterprise terms, open models inside your network when data cannot leave it.

The Work Behind It

Craftsmanship isn’t a slogan here. It’s a habit we practise away from the keyboard too.

“Art is never finished, only abandoned.” We take that seriously — in leather, in packaging, in a mascot sketch, and in the software. And we do the unglamorous half in the open: mapping an industry on a wall, running workshops, sharing what we learn with the tourism, ICT and design communities.

The People

Operators and engineers who've shipped the hard parts.

AI research, development and operations out of the Singapore HQ — with backgrounds across enterprise software, retail and travel.

“We didn't set out to build an AI lab. We set out to make AI actually useful — in the operations, not the slide deck. That's still the only thing we care about.”

We will never ask you to sign in, pay an invoice or send documents anywhere else — we will never message you first asking for payment; if a site or an account claims to be Fooyo and is not on this list, please tell us.
