Why WeChat Mini Programs

Your customers in China are already on WeChat.
Meet them where they are.

No separate app to download

A Mini Program opens instantly inside WeChat — with a swipe-down gesture or a search — removing the biggest drop-off point in mobile acquisition.

Payments and sharing built in

WeChat Pay, in-chat sharing, and location-based discovery are native to the platform, not integrations you have to build separately.

A closed ecosystem to navigate

Design guidelines, review processes and account structures on WeChat are specific and strict — most teams outside China have never built for them.

So what actually is a Mini Program?

A lightweight application that runs inside WeChat with no download or installation. It sits somewhere between a web app and a native app — fully integrated into the platform, and reachable by every WeChat user the moment it goes live.

Live on WeChat

Mini Programs we build and run, in production today.

Shopping malls, travel agencies, attractions, transport, telcos, retail brands, restaurants and tourism bureaus — each of these is a live Mini Program a WeChat user can open right now.

Mini Programs Fooyo has built, including Singapore Flyer, VivoCity, TWG Tea, SimplyGo, StarHub, Yue Hwa, Sentosa and ITB Asia.

Get started

Live in six to eight weeks.

From account registration to a Mini Program that takes payments — Fooyo runs the whole process with you. Six stages, roughly one to two months, based on what our delivery actually takes.

  1. 01

    Account registration & verification

We register the WeChat Mini Program account and take it through Tencent’s verification on your behalf.

  2. 02

    WeChat Pay setup

WeChat Pay enabled, with a third-party payment processor account created and connected.

  3. 03

    Planning & home page design

We map your business model to the Mini Program, then design the home page and core journeys.

  4. 04

    Development

Commerce, booking or membership features built, plus the integrations into your existing systems.

  5. 05

    Testing & feedback

You review a working Mini Program on your own phone, and we iterate before it goes near the store.

  6. 06

    Training & launch

Your team is trained on the back office, and we prepare and run the launch with you.

Under the hood

It plugs into the systems you already run.

Fooyo Commerce sits as a middle layer between the Mini Program front end and your existing backend — a ticketing system, POS or inventory platform — talking to it over a RESTful API. The same layer integrates your payment service provider to close the order flow.

That means your Mini Program doesn’t become a second source of truth. Stock, pricing and bookings stay where they already live.

Integration overview: the WeChat Mini Program front end connects through the Fooyo Commerce middle layer to a ticketing backend and a payment service provider.

Cross-border payments

Your customer pays in RMB. You get settled in SGD.

WeChat handles the cross-border remittance. A payment processor licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore settles into your account — no China entity, no China bank account required.

  2. WeChat cross-border remittance

WeChat moves the funds across the border through its official settlement rails.

  3. MAS-licensed payment processor

A Singapore-regulated processor receives, converts and reconciles the payment.

FAQs

A WeChat Mini Program is a lightweight app that runs inside WeChat itself — no separate download or install. Users open it with a swipe or a search inside WeChat and get a full commerce, booking, or membership experience built to your brand.

WeChat is the primary app most consumers in China use every day, for messaging, payments, and discovery. A Mini Program puts your business inside that existing behaviour instead of asking customers to download a separate app.

Yes. Every Fooyo product is built to plug into your existing stack — CRM, POS, CMS, and messaging channels — rather than force a rip-and-replace.

Yes. Our Singapore HQ runs AI research and development, our Chengdu branch handles development, and our Tokyo office covers business partnerships — so our products are built for Southeast Asia and ready for China, including WeChat Mini Programs.

About 6 to 8 weeks end to end, based on our delivery experience. That covers account registration and verification, WeChat Pay setup with a payment processor, planning and home page design, development, testing and feedback, then training and launch.

A customer in China pays in RMB inside WeChat. WeChat handles the cross-border remittance to a payment processor licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, which settles to your account in SGD. A typical processing fee is around 2.3%, so an SGD 100 order settles at roughly SGD 97.70 — your actual rate depends on your agreement with your processor.

We start with a 30-minute demo to match your use case to the right product, then move to a scoped pilot, private-cloud deployment, and ongoing operation — we build and run the product with you.

Consultancies hand you a report and a prototype. Fooyo builds and runs the product with you — production-grade, in your cloud, with human-in-the-loop oversight — so it actually ships and keeps working.
